How the £5 works

Last changed: 30 October 2026

Recommendations on Yuse can be rewarded. Beside every recommendation that can earn it, we say, with the recommender's first name:

Priya can earn £5 if you Yuse this tradesperson and confirm the recommendation was accurate.

The law treats recommendations as reviews, so when one can earn a reward we must say so (Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024).

Who can earn it

You can, if you recommended a tradesperson you've used, on a homeowner's job, and the homeowner goes with that tradesperson. That includes a recommendation shown on the job automatically, because the homeowner follows you or shares a group with you.

An account with a business can't recommend, for now.

When it's paid

Yuse pays one £5 per job, and only when all four of these are true:

  1. The job is confirmed. The homeowner tells us the job was done.
  2. The homeowner chose you. If more than one person recommended the tradesperson they went with, the homeowner alone chooses who earns it.
  3. The homeowner says your recommendation was accurate. "It was as I expected" or "Mostly good, but a few things to note" means the £5 is paid. "It wasn't what I expected" means it isn't.
  4. The tradesperson didn't ask for your recommendation. A recommendation the tradesperson asked for never earns the £5.

What doesn't change it

How it's paid
